Position Overview

We’re seeking a Multi-skilled Engineer looking for their next challenge in the glorious countryside of Cornwall. At Trewithen Dairy, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our state-of-the-art BRC AA+ production facility. This position is perfect for a dynamic problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is keen on delivering high operational standards and improvements. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide rapid technical support in response to breakdowns involving process systems, IT systems, and general plant equipment, showcasing exceptional fault-finding skills.
  • Perform electrical, mechanical, PLC, and instrumentation maintenance tasks across all site equipment to ensure continuous operation.
  • Respond swiftly to equipment issues, aiming for minimal downtime and maximum efficiency and quality control.
  • Collaborate effectively within the Engineering Department, sharing knowledge and expertise, and maintaining open communication to enhance team performance.
  • Employ lean manufacturing techniques to optimize and improve plant productivity to meet Dairy targets.
  • Take an active role in supporting the broader Dairy team in achieving operational goals and targets.
  • It’s not just about the day to day we want you to be horizon scanning for future opportunities to improve the dairy efficiencies and processes.


Qualifications and Skills

  • A minimum of a BTEC Level 3 qualification or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of control systems, including PLCs and instrumentation.
  • Proficiency in computer systems, including SCADA and CMMS.
  • Familiarity with permit to work systems and contractor management.
  • A proactive, can-do attitude, with the ability and willingness to tackle various challenges.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the initiative to complete tasks effectively.
