HR Advisor

Reporting to the Head of HR, the HR Advisor plays a key role in supporting the organisation’s HR strategy by providing expert advice and guidance to managers and employees on all HR-related matters. This includes employee relations, recruitment, performance management, and policy implementation. The HR Advisor ensures that HR practices are compliant with employment legislation and aligned with organisational values, fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day HR advice and support to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.​
  • Manage employee relations issues, including disciplinaries, grievances, and absence management, ensuring timely and legally compliant resolution.​
  • Support recruitment and selection processes, including job advertising, interviewing, and onboarding.​
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.​
  • Support managers with performance management, including appraisals, probation reviews, and capability issues.​
  • Maintain accurate HR records and HRIS data, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.​
  • Coordinate learning and development initiatives, including identifying training needs and sourcing appropriate solutions.​
  • Monitor and report on HR metrics (e.g. absence rates, turnover, engagement).​
  • Participate in HR projects and initiatives aligned with strategic objectives.​
  • Keep up to date with changes in employment law and HR best practices, ensuring continuous improvement in HR processes.

Essential Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices.
  • CIPD Level 5
  • Proven experience in advising on a range of HR issues, including employee relations.​
  • Ability to interpret and apply HR policies and procedures consistently.​
  • Experience using HR systems and maintaining​accurate employee records.​
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks.​
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
