About Ben & James Uglow

Ben and James, together with their Father Roland, are the fifth generation of heir family to farm at Trecarne Farm, nestled on the beautiful North Cornish Coast near Delabole. The family farm covers 450 acres and is home to 190 milking cows, with help from Chris and Millie who work alongside them.

Why they like to work at Trewithen

Supplying around 1.3 million litres of milk each year, Trecarne has been proudly working in partnership with Trewithen for over three years.

Main Cow Breed

Over the decades, the herd has grown and evolved. Originally established in the early 1970’s by their Grandfather, Father and Uncle with pedigree Friesians, today the herd includes a variety of breeds such as Guernseys, Ayrshires, Montbeliardes, and Holstein Friesians.

Favourite Cow

As well as being dedicated farmers, Ben and James have a real love for their cows. Some are firm favourites, like Tiddles, who recently joined the herd and enjoys following them around the shed and is always first in line for a head scratch. Another character is Tufty, easily recognised by the tuft of hair on her head and her equally strong fondness for attention.
