We are currently recruiting for a Technical Compliance Officer to support our current Technical Team. Reporting to the Technical Manager, this position will play a pivotal role in maintaining compliance across the site to food safety requirements, due diligence, weights and measures and customer requirements.

In addition the role will be jointly responsible (with the Factory Technical Officer) for validating and/or verifying technical systems such as HACCP, HACCP prerequisites, VACCP, system auditing, weight control, etc.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • To assist the Technical team in validating CCPs
  • To assist the Technical team in validating the prerequisite program
  • To assist the Technical team in verification activities
  • To assist the Technical team in CI projects and optimising processes
  • To actively take part in NPD trials and development work
  • To be a member of the auditing team, and to undertake (with the Technical Officer)
    • a. CCP audits
    • b. Hygiene audits
    • c. Fabric audits
    • d. Area GMP audits
    • e. Site system audits
  • To assist in closing out non-conformances arising from ALL audit sources (e.g. customer, 3rd party, local authority, GMP & system)
  • To assist in writing or updating work instructions
  • To coaching and/or mentor factory staff to follow procedures and adopt best practice
  • Help to promote Health & Safety culture on site
  • To support site audits and technical visits
  • Any other business as requested

Candidate Requirements

Preferred candidates will be able to demonstrate the following attributes and experience:

  • Computer & office based work skills necessary but a hands on approach is essential in the production facility
  • Self-motivated, drive and enthusiasm to deliver continuous improvement results
  • IT skills – Excel, Word & preferably Access databases
  • Tenacity and ability to influence others
  • Good communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Supportive with a practical approach
  • Flexibility
  • Willingness to learn
  • At least two years’ food manufacturing experience, preferably within a Quality/Technical role
  • Appropriate Food Safety Qualifications (preferable)
  • Internal auditor training
  • Knowledge of Food Safety System (BRC, IFS,) HACCP, GMP and hygiene standards
