Overview of the role:
Location: Lostwithiel, Cornwall
Job type: 4 x 12 hour shifts, 6am to 6pm
Closing Date 8 October 2019
At Trewithen Dairy, Cornwall’s largest milk bottler, our people are the key ingredient to support the next phase of our ambitious growth plans. We are seeking an individual for the role of Production Shift Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a unique, fun and supportive environment.
The main duties will include:
Lead departmental production teams so they are operating at optimum performance and effectiveness throughout the day and week
Support the production team to adopt a proactive and positive approach towards staff wellbeing and safety
Make an active contribution to the site health and safety committee
Deliver against agreed productivity, labour, efficiency, product & packaging wastage, quality, profitability and team management targets
Maintain financial controls, in particular workforce costs and product wastage
Develop a KPI driven culture driving a more continuous improvement culture within production environment going forward
Ensure that all HACCP’s are maintained
Responsibility for Food Safety and quality management, ensuring that products and manufacturing operations meet all quality, food safety and legality requirements
Measure production performance by use of appropriate measurement indicators
The person we are looking for:
Excellent communication and project management skills
Resilient and credible leadership style
The ability to coach, support and develop a team
Ability to provide a ‘hands on’ operational approach and lead by example
Possesses the drive and energy to succeed with a strong focus on problem solving and finding solutions
Knowledge and understanding of engineering and process requirements within a FMCG environment
IT skills, including MS office
